The Trent College Arboretum is among of the best in the East Midlands and one of the best school arboretums in the country. The collection is renowned for its attractive spinneys set around the games fields of the school. The arboretum contains several hundred trees belonging to about 200 species and cultivars. Other arboretums in our area include Nottingham Arboretum and Nottingham University, Derby Arboretum, Elvaston Castle, Darley Park in Derby, Evington near Leicester and Bluebell at Smisby, near Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
