Derbyshire Golfers Sweep Midland Titles

Sport Events

For the first time in the 40 year history of the Derbyshire Schools Golf Association, the Boys and Girls teams were both winners in The Midlands Schools Championships. The Boys narrowly beat Shropshire into second place whilst the Girls were comfortable winners, beating their second place competitors to emerge as Midlands winners.

Two Year 10 pupils at Trent, Max and Imogen, were involved in this tremendous achievement; Max scored 74 in the morning and was joint top scorer within his team in the afternoon with a score of 80, whilst Imogen remained top scorer for the Girls throughout the day, attaining a morning score of 83 and an impressive 93 in the afternoon. Well done to both of them on their well-deserved victories!

The Derbyshire Schools Golf Association is part of the Derbyshire Schools Sports Association (DSSA), a body which oversees school sport at a county level in Derbyshire. It has been helped in recent years by funding support from the University of Derby and the noine School Sport Partnerships across the county.
