Caitlin leaps into British Showjumping – Just For Schools

Year 8 pupil, Caitlin Holgate-Davey did her first British Showjumping Just For Schools' Competition, representing Trent at Eland Lodge.

British Showjumping is an Olympic Sport and in conjunction with The Pony Club. British Showjumping have now joined forces with schools across the country to launch a National Schools' Team and Individual Championship series.

There were teams from across the region and individuals representing their schools. Caitlin, and her horse Addie, came second in the 70cm and third in the 80cm with double clears in both competitions thereby gaining 13 points in the 70cm national league currently putting her equal 13th out of 139, and 11 points in the 80cm putting her equal 20th out of 200. Caitlin is hopeful of qualifying for the National Finals , but needs to finish in the top 10 in either category.

Qualification for the 2017 Championships begins in July with her new horse, Harry, and it is hoped that Trent will have two other riders join Caitlin and field a team in this competition.
