Duke of Edinburgh’s Derbyshire Awards Presentation

Trips and Excursions

A group of eleven pupils from Year 11 travelled to County Hall, Matlock, to receive their Bronze Award certificates and badges.

The event started with a welcome from Ian Price, the Derbyshire County Council Head of Sport, Outdoor and Residential Education, followed by a talk from Mary Bagley, the Assistant Director of Enterprise and Field Services for the Peak District National Park. This contained some nuggets of advice about how the young people there might approach their lives in the future.

The main event was the presentation of D of E Bronze Award certificates and along with those from other schools, the Trent pupils came forward in turn to get their awards from Derbyshire County Counsellor, Irene Ratcliffe. The Silver and Gold awards were also presented, although Trent had no representatives on this occasion.

As usual, after the formalities came the group photographs and refreshments. Congratulations to all on completing the Bronze Award.
