2015 marks the 25th anniversary of the Trent renowned Strawberries Concert. With performances from school leavers and often also from staff, the concert which is always held the night before Speech Day is a firm favourite in the school’s calendar of annual events.
The OT Society Committee have decided to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Strawberries at its Annual Dinner, which this year will be held on Saturday 14 November in the Prince Obolensky Building at Trent College.
With special guests and performances from Old Tridents, the evening promises to be something quite different from previous dinners with something for everyone; the evening will begin with a drinks reception, followed by a three course dinner and special performances. There will be a fully licensed bar and a relaxing lounge room area.
This is fantastic opportunity to get together and reunite with old school friends. Tables of ten cost £360 and individual tickets £40.
The Development & Alumni Relations team at Trent will be happy to help you get in touch with friends from your school year groups should you wish to arrange reunion tables. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Kicking off the celebrations of this 25th anniversary year, a number of Old Tridents, otherwise known as 'The Strawberry Collective' gathered together at a Nottingham recording studio earlier in the Spring to produce a cover of Take That’s number 1 hit ‘Greatest Day’.
Courtesy of Sony Music International and PRS for Music, the record has been released as a one off single. Tom Singleton, the OT behind the organisation of this collaboration says "It was a long, but really fun day and I’m extremely excited about what we have produced, it is something truly memorable".
Field Studies, a four piece band who formed whilst students at Trent College and who recently played the BBC Introducing Stage at the Glastonbury Festival were joined by another OT band, The Half Eight and provided the instrumentals as well as vocals for the record. Other OTs featuring as vocalists are Rob Palmer, Freya Crocker, James Bowmer, Hattie Manson, Harriet Dilks, Steph Berwick, Will Moon, Suniel Pillai, Callum Bates and George Boden to name a few.
