Following on from a busy exam season, coming up at the end of this term is the annual Strawberries Concert, an exclusive event for our Year 13 leavers and their families.
Strawberries started back in 1990 when it was just a small occasion in the May Hall where Year 13 musicians would play popular songs in front of staff and their parents. Over the years, the event developed and became one of the most popular events in the extra curricular calendar. The event is now held in the Marquee, the evening before Speech Day, and it includes a variety of talent from our Year 13 leavers in front of a crowd of over 500 people, consisting of governors, staff, family and friends.
Tom Singleton, who is returning to compere the event said, ‘Last year’s Strawberries was simply phenomenal. This year we have an exceptional line-up planned with a few surprises along the way, it promises to be a great evening of entertainment.’
The Swing Band will feature once again, in their 24th appearance at the Strawberries Concert and we also welcome back the Percussion Ensemble to celebrate what will be a great end of an era for our Year 13 leavers.
