Operation Orphan is a charity designed to create a brighter future for orphans and vulnerable children in our world. The ‘Keep a Child Warm’ campaign has been running since 2012 and is an initiative that aims to help children in Central and Eastern Europe, as due to increasing poverty many people cannot afford to heat their homes. Temperatures in the winter months drop below freezing, increasing health risks, especially for young children.
Trent student Lydia Fasey comments, “We are looking for donations of second hand clothes, gloves scarves, hats and any other winter clothing that we can send off in aid of this fantastic charity. It would be great if everyone could bring in at least one item, this will make a large contribution and a huge difference to those who are most vulnerable”.
The collection point will be located in the Obolensky and will be open from Monday 12th May until Friday 16th May, so please help us by donating whatever you can.
