A few months ago, Harry Gilby from Year 8 was given an opportunity to play a leading role in a new West End Musical, during its run in Bath and the West End. The below review has been sent through from the Bath Chronicle Newspaper.
'It was Harry’s character who handed his dad his life savings in order to get a male strip show up and running, he very nearly stole the whole show during its run in Bath. The Full Monty is a story about men being stripped of their pride but with great comic moments. There can't have been a dry eye in the house as Nathan – played alternately throughout the fortnight by Harry Gilby, Louis Healy and Jack Hollington – was finally reduced to swearing at his dad in order to get him up there on stage and out of his Y-fronts.’
Harry attended the famous Television Workshop in Nottingham for a few years and auditioned for a part in ‘The Full Monty’ back in November amongst a group of 100 other young hopeful thespians. Out of all those who auditioned, Harry managed to land the role of Nathan in the production which will transfer to London’s West End at the end of the month. Harry is a member of the Scholars’ Company at Trent and has been involved in many productions, with the most recent being the 789 Company’s performance of ‘Skellig’ and we are extremely proud of his achievements so far.
