During 2014 Trent is set to host a group of fantastic careers advice events aimed to inspire students from Year 7 all the way up to Year 13.
Experienced industry professionals, ranging from the fields of Architecture to Hospitality and Events will be coming in to talk about their careers and advise the students on how to achieve career success. It will be an excellent opportunity to further their knowledge of life after education and to help them think about careers that they may like to aim for.
The talks will begin on February 11th 2014 through to May over a variety of dates. Among the guests appearing we have Andrew Cusick, a program and senior project manager at Hewlett Packard. He specialises in building and managing ‘super computers’ which will no doubt make an extremely interesting presentation.
Jane Booth from Babington Business College will be kindly showing our pupils the opportunities that apprenticeships can bring, talking about the advantages of an ‘earn while you learn’ career. Also we have Trent College’s very own Human Resources Manager Kim Cain, who has a BSC in Human Biology and Psychology and has worked at some extremely prestigious firms and gained a CIPD qualification.
This programme poses a great opportunity for the students at Trent College to further their careers knowledge and to think about where their preferred subject areas may lead.
We want to encourage our students to be inquisitive and regard this as an opportunity to discover and explore new career avenues, so that one day when they eventually decide on a career direction it will be a fully informed choice.
