Jack Dickinson has achieved considerable achievements with the Independent Schools “Lambs XV” rugby team.
The team is selected from all the Independent Schools throughout England, so his inclusion is a fine achievement in itself.
Jack has actually captained the side recently for the second year running which illustrates the high regard that the coaches have for him.
Guy Hope, Jacks Rugby coach said “As a sport scholar at Trent College, Jack sets the standards in terms of on and off the field conduct and is a super role model to others”.
Jack Captained the Lambs in a warm up fixture against Merchant Taylor's School U14/15. The Lambs won 47 nil in a far from one-sided game although the quality of some of the Lambs play was exceptional.
Some background on the team from www.isrugby.net:
‘The Independent Schools Rugby Football Club known as ‘The Lambs’ was set up in 2006 to provide representative rugby opportunities for talented young players where they did not exist before.
It culminates in the players potentially playing for the ‘Lambs XV’ more fully known as the English Independent Schools XV. Our initial motive for setting this up was to try and stem the huge tide of players leaving the game as soon they left school.
We hoped that by providing additional opportunities to play beyond the school playing field that we could enthuse those players and entice them to remain in rugby for life, for the overall benefit of the game.’
