Estates Porter

Permanent. 40hrs per week on a rolling two week shift pattern, week 1 0600 – 1430, week 2 1100 – 1930, all year round

Trent is a successful selective day and boarding school where academic excellence, sporting achievement, musical accomplishment and participation in the arts are all highly prized.

We require an Estates Porter to work as part of our multi-skilled estates services team. Under the management of the Domestic Services Manager the post holder will undertake minor maintenance, electrical appliance testing, event layout and setup tasks, general porter duties and daily cleaning duties.

The role of Estates Porter is wide and varied and all members of the team are expected to take a keen interest in the life of the school. In addition to general porter duties, the post holder will also assist the Trent College security team in maintaining overall security of the Estate. All members of the team are expected to take pride in the presentation of the Estate at all times.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role or be willing to undergo relevant training. They will have a flexible and can-do attitude, be able to work effectively on their own initiative and also as part of a team.

Salary package will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes a generous school fee discount and complimentary use of the excellent leisure and dining facilities.

International Admissions Co-ordinator

From January 2018

Permanent; part-time (4 days per week term time, 3 days per week out of term)

Trent is a successful, selective day and boarding school in which every pupil is given the individual care and guidance which enables them to flourish at school and in later life.

Reporting directly to the Director of Admissions, the International Admissions Co-ordinator will recruit overseas boarders into the Trent community. You will develop relationships with overseas agents and represent the College at events.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a people-facing role, be professional and organised. You will be driven, enthusiastic and IT literate. The role does involve UK and overseas travel which will result in overnight stays and weekend working.

Executive Head Chef (Head of Catering Services)

Permanent, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks a year.

Founded in 1866 Trent College is a leading HMC co-educational day and boarding school on the edge of Nottingham set in forty two acres of parkland. In addition to the Senior School there is a thriving Junior School including a Nursery, The Elms. There are approximately 1150 pupils on campus from the age of six weeks to eighteen years.

This is a senior role at school and is a new position reporting directly into the school’s Director of Operations, with the top five key objectives being:

  1. Overall leadership and delivery of outstanding food and service to the school community and internal and commercial events.
  2. Driving the food offer to new and higher levels through innovation and a culture of continuous improvement.
  3. Developing regular innovations to improve the food and beverage offer to include considerations for age appropriate dining, nutrition, special diets and be reflective of current industry trends.
  4. Establishing a firm control over the department’s finances, presenting and agreeing budgets with the Director of Operations, for all catering expenditure and staffing.
  5. Organising the catering team into a structured, highly skilled, motivated and efficient workforce.
