Sven-Goran Eriksson Drops into Trent College
Newly appointed Director of Football at Notts County FC, Sven-Göran Eriksson, visited Trent College this week as part of the highly successful Whole School Programme.
The Programme provides students with the opportunity to meet inspirational people from a variety of backgrounds, whilst enhancing their knowledge of a range of subjects and issues. Past speakers have included explorers, musicians, playwrights and physicists, and the guest list for the coming year is equally as impressive. Haven Roosevelt, grandson of President Franklin Roosevelt, Bill Furniss, Olympic Swimming Coach, and actor Geoffrey Whitehead, are amongst those who will be taking part in the programme this year.
Sport is an integral part of school life at Trent College, so the visit from Mr Eriksson provided Sixth Form students with a unique opportunity to interview one of the most well known names in sport, as well as Chairman of Notts County FC, Peter Trembling. Director of the Whole School Programme, Toby Leadbetter, said: 'It was an honour for Mr Eriksson to generously give his time to visit Trent College. We are very fortunate to acquire so many high profile and successful people, all of whom enable our students to broaden their horizons and aspirations.'
