Lights, Camera, Action for Creative Trent College Students

Trent College's Music, Art and Drama departments have had a very busy few weeks in the lead up to Christmas, with a number of events taking place to packed audiences.

Pupils from across the School have demonstrated their musical abilities in a series of concerts open to friends and family. The Lower School Concert saw engaging and varied performances from soloists and ensembles, including the Junior Band, Lower School Choir and Junior Strings. Pieces ranged from the traditional to the modern, such as the theme from 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and 'The Great Escape.' The Main School Concert was equally diverse and enjoyable, and included a thoroughly entertaining rendition from the Main School Percussion Ensemble of the James Bond Theme.

A busy November for the Music Department was rounded off with the annual Michaelmas Concert, which featured performances from the School's flagship ensembles including the Symphony Orchestra, Chapel Choir and Swing Band. With pieces from Tchaikovsky to Freddie Mercury, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The Michaelmas Art Exhibition on Monday 30th November showcased a wide range of artwork from Main School and Sixth Form pupils, as well as Art Department staff. The evening was enjoyed by many pupils and their families, and demonstrated some of the exceptional artistic talents present in the School.

The hard work is not over yet; this year's Whole School Musical, Carousel, will be taking place on 3rd, 4th and 5th December in the May Hall. A cast and crew consisting of students in Years 7 to 13, and almost 70 actors, have demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm to the project by rehearsing all hours to guarantee another outstanding and professional Trent College production.

The term will be rounded off by traditional Carol Concerts , taking place in a beautifully decorated Chapel and with great numbers in attendance.

Congratulations to all the students and staff who have worked so hard this term!
