Rugby Coaching from Special Guests

Pupils from The Elms, junior school to Trent College, have recently had some special guest teachers during their after school rugby club - players from Nottingham Rugby Club!

Nottingham Rugby Club delivers several community based projects where they work with young players to improve their skills and confidence, as well as coaches of local clubs to support their development plans.

As part of this, four players from the Club visited The Elms to assist Sports teachers in delivering sessions to almost 100 pupils; tag rugby for U8 boys and girls and full contact rugby for boys aged U9, U10 and U11. The pupils also had the chance to quiz their heroes with a question and answer session, as well as an obligatory autograph signing!

Jez Harper, Head of Sport at The Elms, said: 'The pupils really enjoyed their session with Nottingham Rugby Club and were inspired by the technical advice and encouragement from the players. Rugby is an integral part of school life at both The Elms and Trent College, and we are very grateful that such high profile players took the time out to share their expertise with our pupils.'
