Litter Picking at Attenborough Nature Reserve
Attenborough Nature Reserve has been left spick and span thanks to Trent College students, who cleaned up in a sponsored litter pick during their annual Field Day.
Field Day provides students with the opportunity to take part in activities which benefit themselves and others, developing their sense of social responsibility, teamwork skills and confidence. The Community Service facet of Trent College, in Long Eaton, have an excellent record of contributing their time and talents to the local and wider community, and at this year's Field Day they excelled; raising over £1100 for charity through the litter pick at the local Nature Reserve.
Commenting on the students' success, Trent College Community Service Co-ordinator Michelle Daykin said: 'Our students have really done us proud at Trent, as not only have they worked very hard to clear up a local conservation area but have raised a large amount of money for a worthy charity at the same time. Their enthusiasm was infectious and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves - I am very proud of them.'
