Catering Department
The standard of catering at Trent is extremely high and the food is thoroughly enjoyed by pupils and staff. From the boarders favourite meal of the day (breakfast); through to our lunch with its wide variety of options (including baked potato bar, filled baguette bar, pasta bar, self serve salads and hot main dish options); on to afternoon tea and finishing with supper for the boarders; the 'feedback' from our pupils and staff is always positive. Such feedback is provided on a termly basis in a meeting between the Catering Manager, the Deputy Head (Pastoral) and groups of day and boarding pupils. From these meetings changes are made, themed meals organised and new dishes brought in so our pupils are actively involved in their evolving diet within a healthy eating framework. Everyone eats together in our fabulous new dining facility, the Obolensky. We take very seriously our responsibility to engage children in healthy eating and in understanding the importance of a balanced diet. All food is freshly prepared by our in-house catering team who cater for over 2000 at lunchtimes, with ages ranging from 3 to 65.
All meals and refreshments at Trent College are prepared by our highly-professional and well-qualified in-house team who cater for everything from pupils' lunches to our spectacular Summer Ball. The department is committed to the provision of food of the highest standard, complying with all food safety and hygiene legislation, good practices, guidance notes and codes of practice issued by the various authorities and the catering industry. We operate a four week menu system which provides a wide range of nutritionally-sound meals and endeavours to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements. Pupils who have special diets such as celiac or who have allergies are encouraged to contact us, and staff are always available to advise on ingredients and preparation of the food on offer.
