OT Features on BBC Programme Tonight

Thursday, 24 May 2012

BBC broadcast for Old Trident as he celebrates the Diamond Jubilee with memories of his place in the Queen’s Coronation Choir.

Old Trident David Overton (Hanbury 1956-1960) will be celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in an interview with Sian Williams this evening, as part of the National Treasures programme.

At just 10 years old, David was one of the youngest choristers to sing at the Queen’s Coronation in Westminster Abbey in 1953.  From the age of 9, David was a member of the Westminster Abbey Choir for five years. “Being a chorister in the Abbey was a huge privilege, not just singing at the Coronation, but being part of the Choir generally was a wonderful start to my musical and spiritual life”.

David has enjoyed a long musical career, in singing, conducting and producing choral and orchestral music.    To read more about David’s experience as a chorister and musical success please follow the link
