We are proud of our activities programme for all ages and we are delighted that the ISI Inspection Report 2004 recognised that “the extra-curricular programme is of excellent quality, offering pupils a wide range of activities, some of which are of very high calibre."

In the Lower School (Years 7 and 8) all pupils attend at least three weekly activities each term, guided by their Form Teacher. These range from web site design, fencing, scuba diving and creative dance to girls’ rugby, logic puzzles and rocket launching. The aim is to encourage pupils to try a variety of different pursuits which they may not have experienced before.

In the Main School (Years 9, 10 and 11) additional activities are offered, including Cookery, Chess and Canoeing. Pupils also choose a Service Activity where they contribute either to the local or School community, by visiting elderly and infirm people, Life Saving or updating the School Archives.

In Year 10 pupils join the
Combined Cadet Force (CCF), where they develop skills of leadership, discipline and self-reliance and have the opportunity to work towards a Duke of Edinburgh Award.

There are many activities reserved for the Sixth Form, many of which the students organise themselves. These include managing a portfolio on the stock market, Young Enterprise, running the School Bank and co-ordinating science visits for visiting Junior Schools. The School has its own Extension Programme which provides a wealth of opportunities for all students, ranging from an extensive Lecture Programme to Barn Dances! Supergroups, etc.
