Learning Support

The Learning Support Department aims to offer support to all students who wish to have advice or individual tuition, in areas in which they experience difficulty.

Students may refer themselves, or referrals may be made by staff or parents. Parents of new pupils are asked to send any previous assessments to the Learning Support Department.

The Learning Support Coordinator liaises with parents, professional advisers such as Educational Psychologists, Advisory Teachers and Therapists, and with subject teachers about the needs of individual students.

The Learning Support teachers keep in close contact with parents through telephone calls and emails. Reports are written for pupils who have individual tuition, and Parents' Evenings are attended wherever possible. Individual appointments are made to see parents whenever necessary.
