Trent College has a National reputation for Hockey which is built upon a philosophy of opportunity and excellence for each individual.
Trent College is a part of the Midland Independent Schools Hockey League, with matches played on Saturdays and the occasional mid-week fixture for A, B and C teams. Junior fixtures take place on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Additionally, Trent hosts its own Indoor League during November and participates in the Midlands Indoor Finals.
Experienced coaches work across all levels and age groups, with staff coaching within the ‘Single System’. Among our current coaches are those who play Premier League, European and International Hockey; giving our pupils exposure to the latest skills and strategies of the game. Former pupils, including current U21 England International Chris Proctor (2006-13), still find time to coach at the school.
Allied to two dedicated sports sessions each week for each age group, there are additional opportunities for individual development through skill sessions and after school training; where the sport is an ‘elective’ within the Enrichment programme.
As well as having its own astro turf surfaces, Trent uses Beeston Hockey Club’s water-based turfs, ensuring that all pupils are learning on the best surfaces available. Very strong local Clubs, including Beeston, Leicester Ladies and Belper, allow our pupils to play and train throughout the year accessing the highest level of Hockey possible.
An extensive Hockey Tours programme exists, aimed at offering experiences at all age groups in Spain, Germany and Holland.
Scholarships are available for Sport and we warmly welcome enquiries from students who are looking to enhance their Hockey development through Trent. Please contact Mark Wadsley for further information about Hockey and Hockey opportunities at Trent College email@example.com
